Before arriving at Calder Bateman, Brenda spent a decade as an assistant to some of Alberta’s top executives. Clearly she knows how to stay organized and get things done when the pressure is on. Suffice to say, with our never-ending stream of deadlines, CB is putting Brenda’s skills to good use.
As the frontwoman of an 80’s Welsh punk band, Catrin is no stranger to winning over a crowd. Today she not only facilitates sessions with some of Alberta’s most powerful leaders and passionate advocates, she guides the path for Calder Bateman. Catrin is always prepared to help bring clarity and understanding to some of the province’s most complicated issues.
Cheryl is a strategist extraordinaire. Only those close to her know how competitive Cheryl is. It makes perfect sense when you’re privileged enough to work with Cheryl and witness her tenacity, leadership and incredible work ethic. Cheryl always strives for success – and knows that working with a strong team is the best way to achieve it.
If CB had a mascot, it should probably be Chris. It’s hard to find someone as passionate about the company, the work and the city it affects, more than Chris. He genuinely cares, which has propelled him to be a man of influence beyond his years. Chris regularly shapes the outcome of some of this city and province’s most important initiatives.
In 2006, Chris started a world renowned yo-yo company. But walking the dog isn’t the only trick up his sleeve. His diverse digital skillset delivers what modern campaigns need, from content strategy to real-time analytics to ongoing ad optimization. When it comes down to it, Chris sets campaigns up for success, makes sure they’re performing, and delivers detailed results. Suffice to say, clients love him.
As the quarterback of CB’s strategic team, Craig asks the big questions that help solve our clients’ most complex problems. With a reputation as being one of the nicest people in the industry, Craig’s unflappable influence is one of the main reasons CBers can remain calm in an extremely high pressured, fast moving industry.
Dave is CB’s conductor. As a traffic and production manager, Dave’s work ethic helps make sure every project that goes through the shop is on time, on budget, and of the highest quality. Dave is one of the nicest guys in the business, which is just one reason he has so many impeccable supplier relationships.
Jacki knows how to put her hands to good use. At Calder Bateman, she uses them to create distinctive designs for our clients, with a focus on corporate identities. In her free time, Jacki’s hands knit scarves, practice taekwondo, and take pictures for her Instagram account with over 17,000 followers.
What makes James an asset to the public relations team is not his expertise across a wide variety of initiatives. Nor is it his significant experience from policy development to government relations and stakeholder engagement. What makes James stand out most is his carrot cake. Try it and you’ll understand.

Jon believes in using strategic creativity for good. He’s seen its power at work, and he’s been the one to make it work on numerous occasions. A family man at heart, Jon brings a collaborative spirit to every project he’s on, helping to create the type of environment that allows for everyone—clients and coworkers alike—to produce simple, profound solutions to complex challenges.
Kelly is one of the longest standing employees of Calder Bateman—and her energy hasn’t changed since day one. Her infectious enthusiasm and welcoming nature make everyone she greets feel happier than when they came in. Before joining CB, Monica was a highly competitive, national synchronized swimmer – the perfect credentials for managing the province’s most successful Home Lottery. Monica’s calm, cool and collected synchronization of hundreds of moving parts behind CB’s most intense project is one of the main reasons for its success.
Recognized as one of Strategy Magazine’s top 25 Art Directors in Canada, Nicola has garnered many of the industries most sought after national and international awards. Her dogged determination to find the best solution for a client’s brand can be attributed to her innovative strategic thinking—or perhaps her competitive spirit honed from years of demolishing opponents on the slow-pitch field.

Nobody loves country music more than Sherry. So much so that Sherry left Calder Bateman to follow her dream of working in the country music business for a number of years. Thankfully for CB, she has brought her lively spirit and operational smarts back, making us and our client partners much better for it.
Victor has perfected the art of crisis communications. He specializes in bridging relationships in Alberta’s toughest environments. With such diplomatic skills, it’s no wonder he was made Alberta’s Consul Representative to Malta. And he does it all only like Victor can—with style, grace and decorum.
